Smokey Bear is our Hero

Prepare to meet our hero, Smokey Bear, for our storytime on June 30 at 3 p.m.! Smokey Bear will be joining us to read the Smokey Bear Story, decorate Smokey Bear's hat, and play Pin the Hat on Smokey Bear (don't worry, we'll use a poster of Smokey Bear for this activity!). Learn about good fire and bad fire during this fun storytime.

Is your stuffed animal secretly a super hero? Bring your stuffed animal into the library and Librarian Meredith will help you detect if your stuffed animal has super powers!

Heroes sew: pillows and blankets for sidekicks

Heroes craft with Mrs. Jodi Schmoldt! Today you can sew a small pillow and blanket for your sidekick or another stuffed animal. No experience is needed. Sewing supplies will be provided by the library. This project is best suited for ages 5 through adult.

Create your own action and adventure in your very own mini-comic! Librarians Meredith and Abby will be here to encourage you as you make your mini-comic book and fill it with words and pictures.

Photo of tote bag and folderSew a simple project or two with our heroes!

Paper garland: Colorful paper die cuts will be provided along with sewing supplies. Use one of our new sewing machines to make a custom decoration!

Simple tote: Make a simple tote perfectly sized for a binder or a few picture books. Fabric and supplies will be provided, along with sewing machine instruction. If you prefer to choose your own fabric, bring along 1/2 yard of heavier weight fabric.

This tote is shown with a paper folder for size comparison.

These projects are best suited for ages 9 through adult. Experienced sewers will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and assist with your project.

Fire Department Heroes

Fire departement group photoMeet our local fire department heroes for a story, craft, snack, and tour of the fire department. Focused on ages three through ten.

Our programs are open to everyone who participated in an age-appropriate manner and is a good role model for younger people.
