Come listen to the joyful music of folksinger David H.B. Drake as he presents "A Sailor's Songbag," a collection of “shanties” and “fo’castle” sailor songs, sing-alongs and stories about ships, the sea, the Great Lakes, and even the occasional pirate performed on guitar, banjo, concertina, dulcimer and Native American flute.
A native of Milwaukee WI, David has written more than 200 songs of the Midwest. They are frequently heard on Wisconsin Public Radio's "Simply Folk", "Higher Ground", and on public radio networks across the nation. David has served as the shantyman and educator for many tall ships including the HMS Bounty and the Clearwater. He currently serves as musical spokesman and music artist-in-residence / historian for the Wisconsin flagship "Denis Sullivan" and Pier Wisconsin Maritime Center.
